Hey all, despite rumors I'm here, kicking and digging. During the warmest months I didn't do much detecting (lots of motorcycle riding and trips) but now autumn is here and my favorite time of year to detect. Big shout out to mudpuppy in particular, not being on the forum lately I've missed his special humor and great posts. Lots of good people here and a super good moderator.
My opinion of the ATPro stands solid as the best mid priced detector, offering real performance above its price point. A few people I know well have purchased one on my recommendation and are doing well with them. I have a favorite "flagship" detector of brand "W" and I always take it and the ATPro with me. That said, I'm testing out a new mid priced foreign make now and I need more time before I post up my observations on the appropriate forum. There are a number of YouTube videos on this new unit that make it look - I say "look" compelling for a couple of performance reasons as well as some long respected forum members making favorable comments. However I have to do my own evaluation. If I'm not impressed I'll trade or sell it.
