Still digging in Upstate NY - Late December silver !

Met up with Park Pirate this morning for some detecting at our favorite city park. A little cool (30 degrees) but very little frost in the ground. I was lucky to score this 1944 Washington quarter that was initially masked by a strip of iron. After digging the iron and filling the hole, I rescanned the area and got a classic upper right hit on the smart screen. No more than 2" from that plug and about 8" down, out popped the silver quarter. After going 9 months without digging a silver quarter, I found 2 this month.

Just the fact that you're even able to do any digging at all is great- the quarter is a well-earned bonus! Nice job my friend!

Great late season find Ed. I got out to a wooded area Friday. Had to be about 40 deg and sunny here in Ct.
Found an ox knob and a small flat button. Nice to still be out.
