I'm cleaning up someplace else. 3 days at a couple construction sites - next week they are talking of training me to do 'apartment clean up'. That is scary for me in that there are things I don't want to run into in some of those environments - roaches, fleas and (according to my brother-in-law) bed bugs are a big problem this year (he is a pest control company co-owner).
The temp agency says if I work out ok then they will keep me doing th apartment clean up at 8.50 an hour. Since they know our place is up for sale and might leave any time the factory machine maintenance position is out and as I say if the apartment clean up doesn't work out, I'll be cleaning up after people at the Lugnuts baseball park downtown.
Tossing a lot of items away so I don't have to carry stuff from place to place that isn't going to be used. We did give away some items to an organization that helps out people who have been burned out of their homes and such. Told them we will call them back because we have a few beds to go their way as well just before we move.
All the research I had done on the Lansing area, playgrounds, schools, maps, etc. were all tossed out today. No sense in taking any of that up to Houghton Lake area. One of my detectors is now packed up. The other one will follow soon as I get more time.
Cleaning the basement was a chore I didn't want to get started on but it is done now and looks better than when we moved into this place. Sure going through money though lately. $90 to haul away the trash from the basement. About $25 to fix a gas leak on the van - fuel line came loose from the fuel pump and was spraying gas on the muffler (glad God watches over me), had to replace the front brakes on the van (another $60 gone), Casey going to camp (another $125) - it sure is taking much more out than I would like - especially since I am not working full time at a good paying job. Fact - Casey's camp cost was the same or close to the amount of my first (and only - so far) check from the temp agency.
Sherry is carrying the load financially with her pest control scheduling job and her own business. Still no unemployment money or even word whether it is going to be approved or not. Heard it usually takes about 10 weeks before anyone does get unemployment if it is approved. July 16th was my last day working for 'them' (rather not even mention Wal-mart any more it makes me upset). So its been about a month - still a long way from 10 weeks.
Oh well hoping all are getting out detecting. Mixed feelings for those who lost loved ones. Happiness for those who have gone on to be with the Lord and feel sad for those who will miss their loved ones.
God bless all. Til you hear from me again.
