Part of an old cap gun from today's wading hunt. I couldn't wait to get to my new "virgin territory", took a vac. day and was hoping for lots of deep of deep silver, but it was not to be. I have hunted the dry beach for some time now and it is filled w/ iron, one of the reasons I bought the Excel was for this location. So I was expecting the same further out in the water, boy was I wrong, this place is just filled w/ non-ferrous targets. And they vary all over the ID meter, so no just ignoring a certain signature. With over 2000 feet of beach I will never be able to clear this place out before I die. There are thousands of decent sounding targets, but most are Relically type thingies, not really my cup of tea.

I used the CZ20 for about 4 hours wading, and the Excel for 2 hours shallow wading. The cap gun is NOT iron or steel, and the cylinder is very heavy, I suspect plated brass. Found listing on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6000527202 for this gun, she been in da' lake for nigh 50 years.

In one CZ20 finds photo, below the 12ga shell are 2 rifle cartridges inserted into one another and bent, a 303 and 45-70. Also found 3 silver rings w/ CZ20(2 pictured) and one with the Excel.

The Squibb Dental Creme is pretty funny, hope you can read most of it.

This old thermometer or thermostat appears to have red paint on it.

The Excel kept telling me there something good in the hole, kinda like Mr. T yelling in your ear "dig fool, dig"! The nut came up first. I was digging coins deeper that I anticipated w/ the Excel today.

Can you water wade with the Excel? Or is that too "dangerous"? If the Excel had the longer coil cord & was hipmountable I bet that would make alotta waders happy.......love to see fisher do something like that someday
