Steve Moore of Garrett is down at Padre Island in Texas swinging the AT PRO. He should make some interesting finds. It will be filmed.

If Steve Moore is on Padre Island swinging a detector he will get busted!
That is not allowed by law.
Mustang Island is north of Padre Island and there is where we are allowed to metal detect.

I wish I could contact Steve as would like to go out with him and could show him some other places to hunt.

Wow!:yikes:You can't metal detect anywhere on Padre now?:surprised:Since when? My wife and I were just down there last Spring Break(So. Padre). I thought that just the PINS was off limits.
Thanks for the heads up, buddy.:please: Happy Hunting!:)

P.S.
I think that sux:thumbdown:

Since when no detecting Padre Island??---Used to detect there all the time.--North of South Padre you couldn't.-----Guess they aren't going to get anymore of my "tourist money" then!

You can't hunt the National Seashore or the State Parks but you should be able to hunt near Port Isabel which is on the very southern portion of Padre Island.
I haven't been there for a 3 or 4 years so things could have changed.

OK ... I should have said the Padre Island National Seashore.
Padre Island National Seashore starts just a few miles south of Bob Hall Pier (Corpus Christi Texas) and continues south.
Perhaps farther south where the National Seashore ends metal detecting may be permitted.

I think If Steve Moore is hunting around Corpus Christi Texas he is not on Padre Island but instead Mustang Island.
From the Port Aransas Jetties and a mile or so south is prime hunting ground.
From Bob Hall Pier to about a mile north of the Packery Channel is also heavily used in the summer.

I think part of his hunt included Mustang. He is back now. I'll have to check and see what he uncovered. Course they filmed it so it will probably be on the tube soon.
