STEALTH X-8 nulling

Howdy, just got my Stealth X-8 coil today. And am I doing something wrong? With the machine on factory settings, it seems to null out nickels and try to null out other coins when starting to cross them, once I am on center of coin it is ok. But just when first start to cross coin. Any Ideas??

What type of factory settings are you using? If you just have the coin setting set to accept then you should be OK. Also, make sure that there are no rejected targets anywhere near the coins you are trying to test with. The best way to check this is to remove the coin(s) and pass the coil over the area and see if you are still getting a null. Good luck!

OOOPS, changed my name in the title so people would know the area I was in.
I have all the factory presets on, even tried turning down the sens to 10 and the same results. The machine goes null just as I start to cross over a coin. There is nothing below the coins, I checked before attempting to scan coin.
I do get a good signal on the coin, but just before it reads the coin it goes null.
THANKS

Try it in iron mask at about -8 to -10 and see what it does then.I have my iron mask set at -13 so I have a better chance of detecting a coin next to iron. That is with the stock coil though.

Thanks everyone. Since I am new with the Explorer I think alot of things will be easier to understand after I run it for a while. But the X-8 coil already makes it easier to run.
I am in the process of clearing off a dirt floor in an old cellar that was built in 1890's. Already found a old penny & dime
