Stealth Detector: Ideas for an invisible detector

Been at this for awhile and may get an invitation to go overseas. I would like to put the detector in my boot and swing my leg but this is not very practical. My best idea which is not a great one is using a Head hunter PI. It breaks down and has the smallest profile. Would be hunting small to medium sized objects. No discrimation necessary but if had to do a VLF that would be ok. Any ideas on how to detect with out being detected?

And the feds here busted a guy at Gettysburg with a detector in the pants just a year or so ago. Federal prison isn't as bad as overseas, but you still don't want to go there.
