Starting 2013 with small silver

Three weeks into the new year, and the CTX and I finally made it out. The ground is still semi-frozen, pretty solid in north-facing and shady spots. I went to a public site that was a campground during the Civil War and a school in recent years. The ice in the ground did not seem to affect the CTX's performance. Sensativity ran a little low due to EMI, but the depth was solid and the VID numbers read what they were supposed to.

I found about $5 in clad, a 1923-P Mercury dime, 1916-P Barber dime, 1900-P Barber quarter, ND buffalo, and my best coin, an 1840-O (no drapery) half dime. I also found a handful of wheats and some odds-n-ends. Oh, and I thought I "hunted out" this site with my E-Trac 2 years ago.

I have owned the CTX since its release last May and have (knock on wood) been blessed with a high-quality machine with no defects or issues despite hundreds of hours of intense hunting in the cold, heat, water, dry conditions, dust, brambles, woods, etc. I love this machine, and am excited to see what future updates Minelab has in store for her.

Please enjoy a video of my hunt, and I also attached a video of my last 2012 hunt (which I didn't post previously).

Nice finds. I tried to get out yesterday but did a little CCW training in the back yard with my wife.

Wow. My wife just bought a new handgun last week and wanted to go to the range yesterday! I told her we would go the next nice day; I had to feed the detecting itch.

Great video's Bryan. Crystal clear audio & video. Keep them coming.

That had to have been and awesome hunt. The Half Dime is in pretty nice shape too. Nice finds.

Great Finds. I love my Ctx BUT!! I hope minelab don't release any new for at least a few more years. Wonder what the upgrade to the Ctx will cost? Lol

Thanks! I was actually referring to new firmware or programming updates. The only hardware change I would like to see would be maybe an in-line probe, or as Digger has said, a cup holder.

Great finds and videos Bryan - that half dime is spectacular - way to start the year off right!
