Does anybody use the 9.50 coil ethat come with the M6 on the V3i? Does it work better for them? I love the 4x6 DD coil but struggle with the 0 DD coil. I wonder whitch would e better a 6x10 dd or 950 coil? Is the M6 coil the same as the coil on the V3X? I seem to find more with the 4x6 but nothing deep. I need something I can use that will find at least 6 - 8 inches. I seem to be around 5 inches right now on 4x6 and seem too unstalble on 10 DD coil. I will buy a second hand 950 if you think it is a good option.
I pulled 80 coins out of one yard. only 3 wheat no silver. I feel that I am just above the silver. The house was there at least since the 1880s torn down lots of trash. I onlyith found 8 coins with the 10 dd one day. Went back next day with the 4x6 and pulled 3 quarters, 7 dimes, and 10 pennys. All over the same ground. I have worked hard on my high pro program to maximize depth but need about 2 inches more to get to the silver. I think I am achiveing only 4 - 5 with the 4x6 and 100 dd.
The 10" DD or D2 is a powerful friend. It took me a while to get used to it because it works best when you are moving very slow and have the recovery adjusted properly. If I'm looking for deep coins my recovery is set around 95 with the 2D. I routinely get dimes in the 7 - 8" range but remember those signals will be small, subtle and easily missed with too fast a swing. Quarters at that depth sing out and are harder to miss. Using the D2 coil it's not about how much ground I process but how well I process it. If you are by yourself and not competing with anyone that's even better for making yourself creep along. Mine is a modified HiPro program that I can pretty hot (8 to 10 gain / 75 all metal / 94 disc ) but in trashy or high EMI sites must be lowered a bit and adjusted.
Just my 2cents because I underestimated the stock coil for a long time and now it's my favorite. BTW besides the stocker, I have the V rated 6x10, 950, and 12" coils from whites and the 12x10" SEF. I don't even use the 950 or 12", they hand on my wall nearly all season.
