Stainless knee's

Allen in MT

New member
Anyone had their knee's replaced?? I'm going in next Monday for the 1st one and they were showing me these stainless joints that will be put in, How much effect weill this have on my detecting?? I use the 12x24 and 14" mostly on the 3000.
Guess there isn't to much I can do about it at this point but go with the flow, but it prety much screws up my summer.
they won't do both at the same time, says see how the 1st one goes and then in a couple of months do the other.
Well anyway I guess it will give me alot of computer time.

and that both knees will be better and pain free from here on out. So you can detect and prospect all you want. God Bless.

Allen I hope you do ok with the surgery. Heres how you can find out about the knees, before surgery, I know it sounds wacky. Get a big Ball bearing, about the size of a dollar, and duct tape it right behind your knee. Now go out in the front yard, and see how your detector does. You may have to make the lower stem longer. But at least it will let you see how much the knee is going to interfer. Grubstake

That's a good test Grubstake. Your right, those steel knees will raise heck with those big coils.
Good luck with that Allen.

Hey Allen, Wishing you a speedy recovery. My Neighbor has had
his artificial knee for 17 years now. He does not prospect or metal
detect so he could not give you any ideas of what will happen
with your detector. But he did say being able to walk with out the
pain was worth every bit he went through.

Hey Allen,

Best wishes for a successful surgery and speedy recovery!
I have a friend who has had similar surgeries, and it doesn't slow him down much, and he is around 75 years.

Just be sure to order everything on the hospital menu, and get ya a stash of cookies saved up in your roll around table drawer, in case you get the munchies at a late hour, when the hired help is hard to find.

Keep us updated on your progress..

Allen and I have been to Ganes cr twice together and I am going back this year. If his Knees were better, I am sure that he would be going back this year. He has had a hard time trying to walk any distance so this should help 100%.I am sure that he will be swinging that coil as soon as he can walk on his own.

Good luck on the surgery Allen, heal quick!
