St. Augustine, Fl - What's the story?

Hey all...I am thinking of taking a trip to St Augustine in order to do some beach and water hunting but I am also interested in maybe doing some land hunting while im there. Is that OK in the public parks? Or does anyone know where I should or shouldnt try? Any and all information would be very helpful. Thanks! -Dig

If it's not specifically posted, then go for it. Or if you're still skittish, look up the city website (and for the beach there, whomever's jurisdiction is that stretch, ie.: city, county, or state). Rules and regulations are usually on-line, for park visitors. On the website, click on their rules/laws (or do a word search under "metal detectors" or whatever). If it is silent on the issue, then so-be-it. That would be good enough for me. Of course, this is assuming you don't plan to make a mess, or be a nuisance in some other way.

There is a cool bar across the street from the Fort. Good place to go after MD,ing........

There use to be a section of Beach you could drive on but not sure if that is still true. St Augustine is one of my all time favorite places to go.
