Squeezed a Silver out today

I took a ride with my wife to take our daughter to work this morning and stopped by at a house on the way back to knock and ask permission to detect. They said yes and I went home, picked up the CTX and went right back. I spent about 4 hours there so I could cover the entire yard as closely as possible in one visit. The target were few and far between but I did manage $0.13 in clad a 1902 Barber Dime (badly stained) and well worn 1929, 1941, 1944 and 1953 Wheaties. The husband and wife are extremely nice people and told me I could come back at any time.

As I was finishing up, the wife came out to see what I had found and told me about the lot next door where there once stood an old house when she was a little girl 50 years ago. She gave me the name of the owner. I just got back from there, having left a note in his door for him to give me a call. Who knows, maybe I'll have a fresh spot to hunt tomorrow also!

You didn't just squeeze out a silver, but a Barber and technically a pretty high grade one at that. Nice going. I always like finding the older silver.

It's a nicely detailed coin. I wish it wasn't stained.

All good finds! You went about it in the right way...people appreciate that. And if you get the "go ahead" permission for the next lot I'll bet you will do real well! Keep us posted.

I'm anxiously awaiting a call from the owner. I made the effort to go back out and stop at his place today, leaving the note, so I wasn't pacing around in the AM wondering where to go hunt. I hope he calls me tonight.

A gal from work is supposed to be asking her uncle about an empty, unoccupied home he owns. I have a few on the burner.
