squeel sound question if you will

grumpy

New member
Hi Folks;
I have a question being new on the Sov Gt which makes altogether different sounds than my SE.
Wondering along and crossing a large open lawn in wide open , no elec lines or anything the GT will just all of a sudden squeel like the wife on a bad bad hair day or a stuck pig. Just from out of the blue. It will also do this once in a while just laying on the ground beside me while I am digging a target. with nothing moving or anything. The GT is set in the standard beginner setup and just barely a threshold sound. Any ideas what might cause this or is it normal.?? I thought maybe a loose connection but I have checked all those cables. Any suggestions appreciated.
I have a 180 meter and no sunray probe on (yet)
Thanks for any help.

Sounds like the "batteries are going dead squeal".
Does it come in regular intervals? If so, I'm sure it the detector telling you the battery is running low.

Thanks very much; I had a idea it was something simple and if I was smart enough to ask (which im usually not) I could find out.
Yes it comes at regular or at least pretty often times at least when it is laying on the ground and not being moved.
Thanks very much.
How long should a set of aa bats last. ?? How about the recharge batt???
Thanks again.

Good AA alkalines should last at least 10 hrs.
Forget rechargeables. They could work a few hours, or not at all depending on which batteries you use and how voltage sensitive your detector is.

The factory rechargeable battery should go a good 8 hours if fully charged. There is 10 cells in the rechargeable factory pack to make this work and if you try to put in 8 rechargeables in the alkaline pack you will have problems as there is not enough voltage for it to run correctly.

I sent you a PM as I have your Sun Ray probe in. :hot::clapping:
