This school is very silver less only found one other early mercury dime here yesterday going slow I had a solid 17 about 6” down I figured ah what the heck in the aluminum tab range but a solid hit.
To my surprise I saw a silver edge no way a silver dime!
Yep this 1944 mercury rang up 17 on my equinox 800 I was digging every solid signal at this school got a broken chain a Girl Scout pin also a few wheats but dig those solid hits.

Im starting to learn that sometimes not everything is a given. I scratch my head when foil comes out gold, now I have to walk that entire intramural field again.......☹️🙄🤪
Way to end out tho!!! Silver always good.

Yep thanks this place is weird because there’s lots of minerals and my detector was going nuts so I just decided to dig every solid signal I’ll go back looking for jewelry and if I find silver well that’s OK .

Thanks Tony I was working this section very slowly trying to find just one silver I could tell it was un disturbed soil meaning no fill but the tone and numbers made me think Jewellery or aluminum..

Thanks Ted happy new year! I’ll be out for the next few days trying to get in as much detecting as I can before it gets frozen!

Mark, I know what you mean.
Recently I got a high tone but the number was lower than silver, turned out to be a Roosevelt dime.
So the machine hit high but soil conditions lowered the number and I was happy like you to dig a silver.
Best of luck in 2021
Tony

Good on the one more silver. Th looks like a rain out in my area, so I need to get my one more silver this morning. Did, though, get a hefty 13.9g 925 marked silver ring yesterday. HH Jim tn
Nice job Jim I’ve added another friend to the Equinox family so I’ll give him some tips take him out his great grandfather can’t recall his name has his signature on the United States Declaration of Independence !!!!!
lSo he’s a big history buff and went nuts seeing my finds..

Yeah, there is nothing like show and tell to get coin collectors, history buffs and the thought of big $$$ jewelry finds to get some interested in the hobby. Actually, finding old coins is what triggered my interest in metal detecting 48 years ago now. Happy New Year Mark, and everyone. HH Jim tn

Same here Jim love finding old coins just very fortunate to have made the finds I’ve have the Equinox makes it more fun that’s for sure!
Happy Better New year!!!
