Son, wife and I had errands to run this morning. Mine, fortunately, were in a direction that took me near a old spot, so put the A T in the car just in case I had a few minutes to stop at the spot and swing. As fate would have it, had about 30 minutes to hunt and now am glad I did stop. Lots of iron on the site and few good targets any more, but ever so often a wheat or silver still shows up.
After about 20 minutes I was swinging my way back towards my SUV and got a faint whiff of a high tone among some iron grunts. Could,'t pin point the whiff, so dug a little larger hole then usual. About 5" down off to the side of the hole found a target with the pin pointer. Dug a little above and well behind the target and flipped out a piece of dirt and saw this silver disc in the dirt. It had been totally on edge. I knew it was a Seated dime and promptly put it in my water bottle and ended the hunt right then. As it turned out, it is a well worn 1840o Seated dime. That was the only coin I dug this morning. As I've said before, I have grown to love those faint whimpers and whiffs that the A T gives. Merry Christmas everyone. HH jim tn
