Spur found

I found this on the Union side of a battlefield. Does it .to be era appropriate? It is made of brass.
 
Nice spur buddy. Looks like a good one to me. If you found it at a civil war spot then I'd have to say its right. HH
 
nice looking spur, body looks a little thin to be military issue but does not mean a soldier didn't use it.I would like to have dug it.

Nice spur, it's a Civil War piece and looks in greats shape. I was at a big Civil War show in Fredricksburg Saturday and a spur like that was selling over a hundred dollars. I would keep it though, you might never find another. I have been detecting for 35 years and have only found a half of one. Great find!
 
Thanks everyone for the info. and heads up on my find. I'll never sell any of my Civil War relics,my grandson loves that period of history and due to having 8 GG grandfathers and countless other relatives involved in that conflict he has exclusive rights to all my finds of that nature.
