Spring Club hunt

Larry (IL)

Well-known member
This was one of the oddest Club hunts that we have ever had IMHO. It seems that a few hunters showed up to hunt but most came to eat lunch and left. Nancy and I had a chore to do right after lunch and when we came back, Rod was the only one hunting................ and this was in the middle of the afternoon of hunt day.....

I did take a few pictures of the campsite at lunchtime and a couple of the rough terrain and beautiful view to those hunting the hillsides.

A big thanks goes out to Tom D. for putting on a great lunch. :clapping: That is a lot of work Tom and much appreciated.

Louie and family and Nancy and I had a couple of bonfires blazing on that beautiful Saturday night thinking some club members might stop by for stories and a cocktail, but ended up just being us.

Sheesh...I'd a made the drive just to sit around the fire with y'all and tell stories...must a been one of those things?...hard to put a finger on sometimes what is going on with the membership and all that..Life creeps up on everybody all at once at the same time it seems...looks wonderfully peaceful though..wish I was there with my little worthless dog, a tent, and detecting gear...I tend fire and can cook, tell poems when required and whatnot...especially late at night around a fire when they have the greatest impact...
I'd a had a trotline in that river under the grain barges and a few snares out in that swale by the tracks just for rabbits and giggles...You guys have a great and active group, so I think it was just one of those things when all the stars didnt align just right... what a beautiful night though...to sit around a fire with your loved ones and look up into the heavens for the ISS...
Mud.

We would have welcomed you with open arms John (mudpuppy). The weather was down right beautiful.

The PATH Spring Hunt is behind us now. Our Spring Hunt is one of our biggest hunts, excluding the big Fall Hunt. We were hoping more would have joined in on the evening talks and tales while sitting around the campfires. I guess it wasn't in the plans. :sadwalk: There were some that came early and were made to eat biscuits and gravy. :) That was a great start to the day.

Tom, the food was great and you did a fantastic job being head cook! Thank you!

You would be welcome to join us anytime Mud. :beers:

I went out swinging after lunch for about an hour and saw most people were leaving. I assumes it was over had I known there was a Lil bonfire I would have brought the kiddies back. But I had a fun time regardless, and the food was delicious thank you Tom for the hunt!

We would have loved to have you and the kids join us, what a beautiful evening by the campfire. The calendar of events had it listed as a three day event but many members did not get any info on the hunt. We usually have evening get togethers Friday and Saturday evenings and the hunt concluded on Sunday but I don't think anybody even showed up on Sunday.......
