Spring Break cleanup begins..

Went to the beach to hunt after the breakers have gone, most have. My favorite beach was littered with countless chips of metal of all sizes from the water to the high tide line. Wasn't finding anything inland so I moved on.

Went to the next nearest beach access road and hunted a spot to the left that was about the size of a football field. In an hour I found what you can see in the picture. The sand was imported from Colorado and I'm sure some of this was already in it. Going back tomorrow to hunt the other side.

Nope. Surfside. Only saw one other detector, and they were hunting where I had been. Someone letting a kid play with their machine. I watched them from a restaurant and they were gone by the time I got out. Going back in a few minutes to hunt the other side of the access road and then onto another place.

Grew up in Houston. Been in Dallas 20 years. Last time we were hunting in Galveston somebody said they were getting sand from Colorado. Go figure.

They've been putting Colorado sand down in Surfside for months. Has clad in it too. And junk.

You might pan some of that Colorado sand and see if there is any Gold in it..
here is gold that a friend found in a river,, here and in a area,,that no one thought
there would be gold...

Went back today, but was disappointed. It was very windy, which didn't bother me after it warmed up. But I couldn't find a good spot and only came out with 65 cents. Checked 4 different locations.

Some days you just can't catch a break, but you know you'll find your next honey hole before long!

Wonder what I'd find in sand from China? Chinese pull tabs?

It won't be long and those kids will be enjoying spring break full blast and losing lots of goodies for you to find. Good luck and HH.
