spray on truck bed liner to protect coils

Can anyone advise of the use of the spray on truck bed liner to protect coils. I just bought a 5" Excelerator and it doesn't have a cover. It seems to make sense to use the spray on stuff after the warranty has expired so as to not have to pull off the cover to clean out the sand and dirt. It also seems that it might just be a little lighter to swing.

I have seen several posts about this subject. Seems to work for those who have tried it. Have considered it myself.

I used it on my stock ml coil. it works great!!!!!! no more gay coil cover!!!!!

I bought a can of Rust Oleum Truck Bed Spray at Wal-Mart today. Is that the right kind to use. How many coats?

I understand about the warranty but I bought this on on ebay used so that is is of no concern. Great coil though. Used it today in front of a store that used to be a plumbing shop for about an hour and found a few pieces of copper ($30 a lb now) and a few pennies and an old dime. It pin points on the Safari very well.

Sounds like a darn good idea to me. I always have to spend a lot of time removing and cleaning out from around and inside the snap on coil covers. The warranty is up on all but one of my detectors and I think that's the way to go. Monty

'Preciate the guidance. It has been done and I'll let you know how it works out. It's curing now for a few days. Around Boston they use marine epoxy..................
