Spray on bedliner on a Garrett Pro Pointer

I see people use spray on bedliner to protect the coils, anybody use it on a pro-pointer? Will it affect depth on a pro-pointer where you're not getting alot to begin with.

A friends is getting beat up from using the scraper part and the tip is wearing, just wondered if this would hurt on the depth and help on the wear and tear.

Just wrap it with cheap electrical tape, won't effect the operation of it at all..................

I used the liquid plastic "dip" from Lowes Hardware; which seems to be similar to the spray on bed liner. The cure time is less and it is very tough. I haven't noticed any change in sensitivity. I just touched it up yesterday after about 9 months of use with the initial application.

dont know about bedliner but i do spray mine with florescent like paint, like boundary markers paint. Several times in the woods ive almost lost the PPointer except for that paint saving the day. Of course in the fall some of those leaves are the same color! I have really worn and distorted the ends of those quite a bit and i dont think it affected detecting performance- I wish they'd make the shaft a little longer for those deeper holes.

I like the liquid electrical tape idea, and the paint idea, I am thinking about using yellow or blue liquid tape.

Bedliner spray should work fine, but I would be careful as to which brand you use as some may contain zinc for rust protection.

My Pro Pointers are all painted bright yellow.
