Spoon Handle

New member
Hi Guys,
I found this spoon handle in my yard and would love to know the time period. It does have a maker on the bottom but I can't seem to make it out. It also has a small peg sticking out of the spoon end. My town was around in the mid 1700s. Any help would be appreciated. I found it about 4-5 inches down.

Thanks and Take Care,
Ted

Sure looks like a very old pewter spoon handle... early 1800s late 1700s i would suspect. .. hopefully you will start finding other cool stuff from the same era...good luck...

Morning! Thank you for the information. It looks like you are right on the money as I have been getting the same thoughts from others! I love the 1700s era so I am just going to tell myself it was from that time period... :) My town was founded in 1740 and I live about a block from the original location so I am hoping to find some other cool items. One thing that was found in my yard(by a friend that got me into this) was a bullet. It is way bigger than a hunting round but smaller than a 50 cal. and it is undamaged from what I can tell. I will post a pic as soon as I can to see what you think!

Have a good day,
Ted
