Took my boat to a lake I haven't been on in a few years but it has given me over 10 grand in gold and silver. Kevin and I hit the first spot where I found a 1956 rosey. We hit another spot and I found a gold plated ring and lost it again. Hate that when it happens. The third spot was the most interesting one.

I was on a drop-off where I have found lots of silver coins in the past. I saw the tip of a fishing pole in the weeds and went to investigate it. in getting to the other end I found a hat and one fin. I picked them up and went up the drop-off to go to shallow water to put them in my tube. Followed my footsteps back after they were in my tube and found the vest and the other fin. The vest has flies on it, more fishing line in one pocket a pair of sunglasses in another, some very small split shot in another and a pair of nail clippers in another. STRANGE!!!!!! The pole was in one piece. I broke it down for the picture.

Anyway, two silver dimes and a silver religious medal a brass one and a couple old brass lures were my finds. The lighter has a symbol I have seen before on it but can't place it. Any help? I was thinking an airline.

Looks like someone either forgot or had to leave in a hurry, that is strange.....

LOL leave 10' of water in a hurry without fins?? Maybe a great white shark was close by!!

Looks like a setup for float tube fishing. My guess is the unlucky fella was without a life jacket when his tube was ruptured, he probably cut his losses and swam for shore.

Or he might still be out there somewhere on the bottom. Now that would be spooky. Might want to check and see if anybody has been reported missing in that area and how long ago. Really interesting find there.

Checked with the park supervisor and the sheriff patrol. No drownings on the lake. Mystery is not going to be solved probably.

Spooky fer sure. Is that a Star trek symbol on that lighter. Query.....If that is a real "lighter" what is it doing on the bottom of a lake, it should float?.....nge

LOL Larry, good one. I googled Star Trek and it doesn't look the same. I know I saw this symbol before but I just can't place it. Will find it somewhere.

Check the reel, could be an old Hardy fly reel . Sometimes there worth good money. Also see if you can clean it up, Fresh water isn't that hard on a good reel.

Checked the reel and rod. Martin made both. Under 100.00 for the combo. The vest is a Rio Bravo. Not a lot of cash here, just strange that somebody had to ditch everything and had time to take off their vest and fins also. Never know what your going to stumble upon down there!

Here's a picture of the kind of float tube I was thinking may have been involved. A lot of guys wear waders and fins with them, and if someone wasn't wearing a PFD I can see why they may have to bail in a hurry. I used to have one similar to this, but it was a round tube and the fins would not fit through the cloth openings inside the tube (You had to put them on after you were inside of it). So if you had to bail quick the fins would have to come off first.

Must be a real ride when ya hook a large northern pike in one of those things......nge

Fisherman probably was having a bad day. Possibly after many bad days decided to say "the heck with it" and quit the sport. Instead of taking everything back home he just decided to toss it in the water and leave it there. Kind of like a golfer giving up the sport and tossing the golf bag in the nearest pond.

I guess someone fell through his belly boat. I really love those fishing spoons. I wish I found some. They are rarely used where I live and excellent lures.
