Spooky day at the river

I went to the river yesterday and got back kind of late. Ran into an Alien being and he tried to abduct me, but I was too fat for his little spaceship. I found my first St. Christopher medal, 92.5, a ring that looks like brass with a #4 inside the band. 2 costume jewelry ear rings, I believe, a fishing lure, file blade off a leatherman tool, 4-pennies, 6-nickels and 3-dimes. One nickel was 1940, but haven't looked it up in the red book to see if it was a war nickel with a little silver. I probably threw some good targets away in some trashy areas with so much gravel, rocks and freshwater mussels in my scoop. Definitely plan to build a sifter this week. Photo 1- Alien
photos 2 & 3-St. Christopher medal, 4 & 5 ring and photo-6, the ear rings, fishing lure, coins and leatherman file blade. Not a good photo, but I got in late today and it's trying to rain. How the little spring set stayed in the scoop and the nut is beyond me. HH

Yeah, if big brother comes, look out. He reminds me of the Chicken Hawk on the old Foghorn Leghorn show on the Bugs Bunny Loony Tunes. Lol.

I believe the war nickels are from 1943-45. I found a "44" at a ball diamond earlier this year. I knew there was somithing different about it as soon as I saw it in the hole. It was too shiny too be a common nickel. Nice job on the sifter.

Nice scoopage!! I like that Little Alien, real X-Files stuff you got there!! When you build your sifter, make it as light as you can. The bigger and heavier it is, the more of a drag it is on you. And be sure not to use any metal on it either. You will want to scan over it with your detector to make sure you have the target in it or waterprooof your Propointer like I did and use that. I used a thick plastic pan I got at the Wally and drilled holes in it and strapped on some Noodles. Works great and it's plenty tough too. I can dup scoops full of mud, rocks and gravel in, no problem!!
