Spooky day at the river

I went to the river yesterday and got back kind of late. Ran into an Alien being and he tried to abduct me, but I was too fat for his little spaceship. I found my first St. Christopher medal, 92.5, a ring that looks like brass with a #4 inside the band. 2 costume jewelry ear rings, I believe, a fishing lure, file blade off a leatherman tool, 4-pennies, 6-nickels and 3-dimes. One nickel was 1940, but haven't looked it up in the red book to see if it was a war nickel with a little silver. I probably threw some good targets away in some trashy areas with so much gravel, rocks and freshwater mussels in my scoop. Definitely plan to build a sifter this week. Photo 1- Alien
photos 2 & 3-St. Christopher medal, 4 & 5 ring and photo-6, the ear rings, fishing lure, coins and leatherman file blade. Not a good photo, but I got in late today and it's trying to rain. How the little spring set stayed in the scoop and the nut is beyond me. HH

Better send that alien back here to New Mexico - he belongs in Roswell with the rest of 'em! I like finding St. Christophers. With all the water hunting you've been doing, a sifter should make life quite a bit easier!

I like that little alien! Still searching for my first religious medal. I have found the Christian fish symbol with Jesus' name in it. A sifter would be great for you, I think. You're finding great stuff. Would hate for you to lose anything good!

good hunting there fongu, will you post a pic of the sifter when it's done? Area 52 were ya? lol

I thought the 1940 nickel was a war nickel, but looked it up in the red book and it's from 1942-1945 when they had a little silver. Hope to put the sifter together tomorrow. Think I'll call the little Alien: "Chicken-Hawk".
