Spoke with Tesoro today on phone

Thought my Bandido was busted. Just turned out to be a bad coil. Anyway, tired of all the negative posts on Tesoro, so I just asked how they were doing these days. The repairman that I spoke to, said that they have had to hire 30 percent more employees this year just to keep up with demand for Tesoro products. I didn't have him elaborate on the subject, but sounds like Tesoro is in great shape. If you think about it, with metal prices being so high these days (gold and silver), I would suppose that a lot of folks are buying detectors. Just thought ya'all would like to know this info and put some of the negatives to rest.

Probably need the new employees to start assembling those new machines coming out in the spring.

(If people are going to spread rumours about Tesoro, might as well be positive!!)

Just kidding around....

Since I paid for my Compadre in a couple of months, I'm gonna get another one for Christmas. It's gonna turn into the Compadrejon, as I'm gonna add a tab check swithch and mount it just like the Tejon. I'm gonna go to the trashier sites and try to cherry pick a few of them. Hey, they're so reasonably priced-what the hey. I've already reset the g/b on this one.

It's funny. You'd think there would be a tremendous upsurge in the number of detectorists given the price of precious metals right now. But most of the dealers I've spoken to says its been business as usual.

Wonder why that is?

No complaining mind you. I don't want the competition.

I really don't want the competition either. Been really finding some nice gold these days. Have found 5 gold items in the last month, 2 of them are quite large and worth quite a bit of $. My secret weapon is a Cibola and cleansweep coil. Absolutely love that combination, it misses very little!

You know, by phone is the only way I've been able to get ahold of them in the past. When I email them I never get an answer.

Same here. A phone call is the best. I called once, left a message, and James called me back. We chatted for a good 15 minutes. It was nice to know the head of a company thought it was important enough to take the time to interact with a customer. And the kicker is that the machine I was talking to him about was purchased used. It didn't matter to him. What mattered was that one of their machines was out there and wasn't well.

Needless to say, I was impressed.
