Spoils since Christmas-first silver yesterday!

Well,
I haven't really posted anything here other than an introductory hello, and the fact that I recently bought an ACE250.
I received my first MD for Xmas from my son (BH Fast Tracker) and since have moved up a "notch" to the ACE. I'd say I've averaged about 4-5hrs/week for the last 3 weeks, and that's pretty much because the weather's been so unseasonably warm here in NE Ohio.
Yesterday I spent about 4 hrs working a local park. Part of the park was a civil war camp called Gaylord's Grove so I figured there might be more than trash. I started out in Jewelry mode, and after a hundred pull tabs or more, I started to discriminate more. After about 3-4$ in clad, I pulled a 1941 Mercury dime in REAL nice condition. I had also pulled a 1937 Wheatie that also looks great. I used Blue Magic polish on a few of the coins, including the merc and wheatie. Also is a silver earing with a fairly large stone (maybe diamond?...nice cut)Here's a few pics:

I couldn't upload the pics of the entire collection of coins I've dug in these last 3 weeks...the file size was too large!
Also couldn't upload the pic of my Whatsitz...dug it over 10" deep. the soil all around it was green, and the item looks kind of like a rifle part. Maybe I can retake a pic tonight after work on a lower res. setting.
Should I have NOT polished the merc? I see a lot of you leave them unpolished.

Nice collection of January finds, Danimal:)

Who would have thought we'd get this much detecting time here in the midwest like we have. Ordering my new Ace 250 today to replace a Titan 2000XD.

Question: were you using the stock coil or the 9x12? Just Curious.

Using the stock coil. Am thinking of getting the smaller sniper coil, as a lot of areas are so trash filled, I get frustrated and probably miss out on some good stuff. The merc was nearly 8" deep, and I had a nice strong signal even with sens. turned down to 4 bars to weed out trash.
