All upon a Friday morn,
Rub-a-Dub.....awww, forget it!! I think I'm having some kind of flashback to the '60's. Oh well, let's get back to the 21st century, shall we!!
I headed to the lake early yesterday morning with visions of gold rings a-plenty dancing thru my imagination. That's the only place they danced, surely not under my coils. I started out with the AT Gold/5 x 8 coil/Grey Ghost Amphian rig and gave it 2 hours. I got some coins, plenty of pulltabs and other POC's. Then I switched the GG Amphibs over to the AT Pro/Plugger shaft/5 x 8 coil rig and gave it 2 hrs. Here's the total loot for the day!!

All of the itty-bitty things were found with the AT Gold, about small nugget sized, I'd say. The heart pendant is a junker but still a bit of bling to get the heart racing for a bit.
I did manage to scoop one ring, a nice little silver band marked Sterling and a makers mark that looks like a "U" with an arrow thru it. Here's the closeup!!

It's sure been a tough season so far in the water, just not the gold rings I used to find pretty regularly. I notice on the Sand and Water forum that a lot of the beach hunters are saying the same thing. Times is hard, I suppose.

That's a lot o' targets, BCD! Nice sterling band, too. I thought all Texans were rich -- where are they losing all that gold jewelry if not in the lake?? Maybe you should think about doing some relic hunting for a while and let the lakes replenish ... old cowboy & western collectibles can go for as much as gold! :super:

Hard to find a place that the owner will let a feller on. Usually get a big ol' "Git off my property with that danged geiger counter!!" And the rich folks don't swim in the lakes....evidently!! Hard times!!

Some nice finds there, and yes it is harder to get places to hunt these days, so the water makes it all the better. Congrats!

That's a nice crisp silver there BCD!:clapping: Well, as far as finding the gold, I cant find any sitting around in the house, watching TV or sleeping, so theres better odds being out hunting with these magic metal finding contraptions we have. Plus, a fellow just never knows what kind of adventure awaits once a guy gets outdoors. Heck, maybe some day you will run into Boone Pickens, and he will need some help of some sort, and then you will be granted permission to exclusive hunting on all of his propertys!:rofl: What? it could happen!

lol Bobby Darin - great song! I would like to hear the rest of your version.

Good load of finds.

lol I laugh at your statement - I stopped and asked to hunt a piece of private property some time ago... The owner said "yes" to my request and told me he was going to write a letter just in case I was approached by a nosey neighbor... As I was walking away, I opened up the letter and it stated in part, "Jim can use his "Geiger Counter" in the field only." I laughed to myself and thought, "I didn't realize I was testing the ground for radiation."

"Git off my property with that danged geiger counter!!"

Nice finds and persistance. Love the rings and the pull-tabs...gold is in the future.

It might be because (at least around here) there has been a sharp increase in people being robbed of their gold jewelry...
