Kevin Johnson

New member
I'm an exchange students. Last sunday I went to the beach of Qingdao, China.

Found some coins, a ring and even a cell phone. The device I used is also a local brand, Kingdetector 3009ii I supposed.

BTW, the Chinese people all stared at me:yikes: I felt quite uncomfortable...

Well, its a start anyway. .. best wishes on your exchange experience .... that is an experience you will never forget... just remember you arent in kansas anymore lol..

Welcome and I hope you keep posting while you are there!

I get the strange looks when I hit the beaches in the Philippines too. The same kind of junk too. Over their I can drag a magnet. and pick up their one peso coin. You be safe over their... KEN

Same here Japan, Most have no clue and have no interest in the hobby, but thats fine with me. They think its funny and feel I am doing it for extra money...Congrats"

I live in California and they do the same thing to me. Sometimes they actually follow me around to see what I dug.

Looks like a "nice" Garrett knock-off.

Considering your finds, maybe Chinese detectors are inherently prone to detect worthless junk and cheaply made garbage..... I digress...:heh:

i detected on sentosa island in singapore for about 4-5 years and the looks i use to get as if i was an alien lol some asked was i looking for shells ,that wood be some electronic device for shells some just followed and stared , in the 4to 5 years detecting in singapore i had about 6 to 7000 dollars worth of coins and gold mainly 22k was the gold down to 14k one nice plat ring about 700 dollars one small diamond ring about 500 dollars the rest was regular gold bands ect the coins where very corroded but use to use lime scale cleaner ,i only found two old copper coins from the mid 1800s could only make out the bust of the queen , i use to find a gold every month or so on average 3 gold rings was the best day , the last time i detected there was in early 2016 and i had cleaned out the place and they where putting new sand on all the beaches on sentosa some places was about a metre deep so good luck there

With my Minelab harness on and Minelab hat and CTX they think I'm hired by the county to pick up dangerous trash under the sand.
