Spent Most Of The Day Coin Shooting With The ATX On A Toboggan Hill Today :detecting:

Was out hunting with my buddy today. He just purchased a new AT Gold. All in all I hunted 3 hills. I tucked 2 of those hand warmers inside the camo cover, between the batteries and they did a super job keeping those alkaline AA batteries warm and functioning for nearly most of the day. I stopped at my third hill, removed the camo cover + hand warmers. After about 40 minutes, the low battery light came on and kept repeating itself for another 30 minutes, at which time I was cold and called it a day. The ambient temperature got up to near freezing today, with no wind and blues skies. I dug a Blackberry, which was frozen in the grass below the snow. I destroyed it getting it out of the ground, but the battery was salvaged.

Here are the coin totals for today. I have pulled out some nice jewelry off some of these hills, but no such luck today! It was a good physical workout today.....I didn't use the Garrett Sling but I probably should have.

Always use the Garrett sling, I learnt that long ago with a big dose of tennis elbow trying to swing a heavy Minelab and a big coil in wheat stubble. You might be able to carry the weight now, just wait till age catches up with you.

Yep, I knew it!

If you don't feed the ATX gold, it WILL EAT the batteries....................Nice of you to at least have the decency to feed the ATX a warm meal.

Snowing here, temp are not getting above freezing until Friday, more snow tomorrow. Don't you just love those weathermen?

Good thinking with heatpacks, even at 5C it starts beeping low battery pretty quickly. I will have to try that trick.
Finally got the deepseeker package and have been scoring a mass of .22 casings, the frost is keeping me from going deeper than 2".
Tried the Big coil but had to GPS all my finds for spring....... kind of like waiting for christmas. This Alberta weather we are having.
