While driving by a few days earlier I noticed that one of the big piles of topsoil was missing and thought it had been spread out. Yoohoo!!
Got there around 6 am and started hunting at 7. Half an hour later i glanced up and saw a big Mercedes crawling down the gravel road. I'd had no way of getting permission so thought I was going to get turfed for sure. The guy finally reached me and asked what I was doing. I told him and he says "Really"!! Then he got out of the car in his $500 shoes and starts following me around! We had a great old time He was the owner and said to come back anytime as long as there was no work going on.
Unfortunately the pile of topsoil had not been spread out. It had been used to fill an 8' deep sewer line trench. I did get some stuff and there were more coins but most were toast. The spoon is sterling and I'm not sure what the bottle thing is.
