Hello everyone...I was wondering if any of you..have buddys who use the treasure ace 250..i am asking because i do and if he gets within 10 feet of me my spectrum goes nuts..i have a hunt coming up in a few weeks can someone tell me what to do? thank you

The Ace 250 runs at 6.5kHz, the XLT at 6.59kHz.

The Ace is fixed frequency.

But on the XLT you can adjust the Frequency up or down and maybe you can adjust it enough to "get away" from the Ace.

Check out Page 48 of the XLT manual about "Transmit Frequency". The default setting is 4 == 6.5925kHz. 1 == 6.0275kHz and 7 == 7.2745kHz so that should be far enough away to clear up the crosstalk.

The manual also gives some hints about changing the freq quickly in case you run into other interference while on the hunt.

The Garrett Ace runs at 7.2 kHz, nonetheless, any detector that is within ten feet will disrupt your detector. Make sure your brush with Close Up.

Interesting, I see 7.2 on a bunch of places on the web, but the garrett site says 6.5!

Google claims 310 citations of 6.5khz and 291 for 7.2khz -- was there an older/newer version of the Ace or did it get changed along the way? Seems odd to have such an even split with two different values.

The 2005 Garrett Catalog lists the Aces at 6.5 kHz but I was told by Garrett Distributor and have fliers that list the Ace at 7.2 kHz. Their response on some of my gold jewelry and nugget samples would indicate the higher 7.2 kHz.
