Hello ladies and gentlemens of the forum.
I was tipped of by Linda Jean that I was to receive a package--from who??? Oh no. That was for me to find out IF and WHEN it ever came. She knows how I can't wait on surprises.
Well; I waited and waited and had begun to start thinkin' bad thoughts about the delivery man or maybe, my neighbors. But guess what happened TODAY????? I don't want to embarrass anyone, but I must share this special time with you. Knowing who I am talking about, none of you would be surprised. Check this story out.
Yup, I had this box nearly three times the size of a shoebox waiting for me when I got home this pm. I opened it up and lo and behold, thar she be! A sho-nuff custom-made handle for an Excalibur Detector!
Mike, you have put one over on me! It's not Christmas yet...and my birthday was MONTHS ago...I know. Labor day! I am going to be the envy of all around this area! My hat is off to you for being able to fabricate something out of metal. I never could do that type of work! It is great, and I will certainly enjoy this most special of gifts--a random act of kindness.
I was telling Virginia last evening that (as I now prepare to depart for Hurricane Katrina's victims) she should not plan on spending any extra money I may be making this trip, as I was going to take about half of it and buy a new or almost new excal 800. "You just go right ahead," she said, with a sweet smile (as always). So, I am IN. I can swish until I get the money together for the hookah, and have a great time doin' it.
Thanks again, Mike, for bein' so thoughtful. And, guess what???? What goes around comes around...in the fullness of time.
I will make full use of this hand-crafted gift from my friend of the North. I STILL can't get over this gift! Thanks so very much. I'll post a photo when I get my rig in and have it mounted like it's supposed to be. <><

PS I don't know how it really got to me. It was addressed to 799 Hilltop Road instead of 299 Hilltop. I suppose the mail lady just figured I was the only John Garrett in these-here hills. That's why it took so long, I reckon.
