Speaking Of Meteors, What The Heck Is This Thing?

It's roughly twice the size of a softball in width at least. I was hunting deep in the woods with the Sovereign a year or so ago and came across it just laying on the forest floor. There were no other rocks around anywhere in that entire patch of woods I was detecting. I originally left it there and the next day it kept bothering me that perhaps it might have been a meteor, so I went for a hike to find it again and it look me a while to locate it. I was about to give up when I came across it.

I think I remember sweeping it with my detector and it produced no signal or null if I remember right. I know one way to check for meteors is to see if a high performance magnet sticks to it. I tried and it won't.

The only thing that made me suspect it might be a meteor is that it looks melted. There are no roads or paths anywhere near where I found it so my first thought of a glob of blacktop seems unlikely. What do you guys think it could be?

Could be almost anything melted yes but what ? thousands of satellites flying around up there falling or losing pieces all the time ,you did not say weather it was heavy or not ? about 90% of all meteorites have iron and would stick to a magnet . Maybe a toasted alien meadow muffin or road apple ? lol Jim

Yea, it's got some weight to it, but not as heavy as I would think if it was mostly made of iron perhaps.
