Wow, found this in an area I have not hit hard because I have found very deep clad coins here. Yes, i was fortunate enough to find my 1/2 reale not 50' away, however, I have stayed away from this area. Well, at ~ 5" I found this spent King George...doubt I'll get a date off of it, but it still counts fellas.

Also dig this merc.....all of my dimes this year have been merc's so far.
 
Great finds - looks like the first George, is that right? Don't see any II or III, but maybe it's just the pic.
 
A friend on another forum says ' "yes King George III half penny , probably 1770's or 80's from the looks of it.".
 
Nice find. Even though there are no dates on most of those old coppers, they are still a blast to find.Great work. HH and GL.
