Spaning the ages.

First I went to my bullet hill and rescued my 73rd 69cal three ring mini ball, then went up the creek and found a more modern Army button. Quite a span of years for these military relics. The easy bullets are gone and I have to be part mountain goat to search these out. Over 150 of these bullets have been recovered so far by me and 20 other hunters I have shown to this location. I share this site with all new club members but about 2% of those I've shown don't get a bullet. This is a wooed creek area above a Civil War camp site and I figure they were hunting deer to add to the cook pot. No cleaner rounds or drops have ever been found. Two new poepla just joined the club, guess where I'm taking them?

I think your button is CW period; looks like a 3-piece officer cuff or blouse to me. Doesn't appear to be the Great Seal buttons later used after the war. Nice finds.
