Sovereing Elite w/meter able to find gold?

Howdy,

I already have a GP3000 but was wondering if a Sovereign Elite, although it is primarily a coin/ring/relic detector, would it have any ability to find gold. I know vlf's like the Goldbug 2 and the Tesoro Lobo are made for detecting gold. I suppose the Sovereign Elite's sensitivity would mainly be geared to finding big fat chunks of gold? A short answer will be enough of a response, thanks.

Yes it will, as long as the gold is a gram or bigger, I have tried it out on my soverine, and it works quite well on bigger chunks. I think when they first were used in Aus. they were useing them for gold, the Iron dissrim, is very good on them. But little nuggets are out of the picture. Grubstake

Thanks for the reply Grubstake, it's good to hear first hand experience in response to my question.

Your welcome REX, like I said it won't get the small suff, but it works well on gram size and bigger. I'm supprised no one that went to moore Creek, did not try one, with all the iron trash, seems to me that looking for big lunkers, it would work well. Grubstake
