sovereign

it is slower than say a Fisher or Tesoro or Whites but i have no problem.my swing speed is 1 sec from left to right! but i hunt only beach's ..and the extra depth over the other detectors far out weigh's the speed loss! if i were hunting land for old deep silver id prob slow down a bit.

seems to me only on deep targets will you have to slow it down, and in all metal a moderate swing speed will work i had a cebola and its not much slower plus the faster you swing the more work on your arm find somone who will let you swing one

You can turn on silent search to pick up the speed as well, but like he said you can swing fast it's just that you need to slow down to hit on the deep stuff. This isn't unique to the Sovereign. My friend with an Etrac figured out he needed to slow to a virtual crawl to hit on the deep stuff.
