Sovereign xs2a stone cold dead

element

Turned it off, turned it back on again half hour later and its dead, tried new batteries and disconnecting the coil. I was near 2 deus machines and they were going mental up until the point that I turned off the machine. I have had a look inside and there is no damage on any of the boards and power is getting to the on/of rotary switch. Any ideas anyone? I thinks its past what I can do with it..

how much should I expect it to cost to fix? Im in the uk but roughly. dont fancy spending more than

try this number 08000564246 they moved factory's a few month's ago. no idea what it will cost but i'm sure it will be worth it mike

need more info about what battery pack you have..........AA or nimh.........nimh battery packs do stop ....can repack nimh battery pack with other nimh batteries.... if AA battery pack then check to see it terminals are clean and shiny if not clean them .... fine sandpaper.........also check all terminal wires are connected and clean as well....
another common problem with the sovereigns, muskateers and eureaks is the coil connecter to the control box (bad design flaw)..... seen a lot of broken wires and rubbing wires and machine will appear dead......easy fix
hope this helps

Does Minelab still repair that model? I know there are certain models they don't fix anymore, or at least can only do limited repairs on maybe. By the way, I just read a blurb about Whites no longer fixing analog models due to a lack of parts. Not sure if they will still try to fix certain things on them. Whites sent somebody a letter and said they discontinued the 6000 because of FCC regulations that outlaw making analog machines anymore, or at least those analog machines.
