Sovereign XS2a Pro - meter questions

locusman

New member
Does anyone know where I could find a replacement meter for a Sovereign XS2a pro - the meter says Sovereign XS2 on it, but
it doesn't work anymore. I assume this was the original meter that came with the machine when it was new. Does anyone have
one of these meters they would part with? Or can I find another 0-180 digital meter made that will work on my machine? I realize that
this is an old unit and there may not be accessories still available that will work with it. Of course, worst comes to worst, I can use it
without the meter at all, but I am sort of spoiled by having the id numbers. Perhaps Sunray or another manufacturer makes a meter that is
compatible with my machine?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Any sovereign meter will work on any sovereign, including the sunray, same as coils, try ebay there are usually a few about. What happened to yur meter, they are pretty hardy, did it get wet, or is it maybe just the cable conector? it may be easily fixed

Kered, you are right. It is the cable connector. I am trying to re-solder the wires to the connector after a few broke loose.
But I would like to have an extra just in case I can't repair it well or if I don't have much patience for repairing tiny wires. Thanks for the info about the meters. I have heard many
are using the Sunray series for the sovs, i may try to purchase one of those like you said on the forums or ebay.

Thanks for your help.

Mark

Those might be hard to come by. The new DigiSearch meter by Minelab is just as good. They are expensive new at like $150 to $180 (I think) but a used one can be had for probably $50 to $75.
