sovereign tone adjustment...which pot?

element

New member
Hi all.

I had a scematic for the sov xs2a a while back bit ive lost it. I wanted to know which pot does what on the pcb.. I would like to play around with the tones. Anyone know?

thanks in advance :)

for the Elite/GT....guess it will be the same. be carefull, its very sensitive!

cheers.. worked a treat. always wanted to raise the tones higher. Sounds a lot better tuned to just a tad off the maximum setting.. any ideas what the threshold pot actually does? I didnt want to mess with it.. is it just a volume adjustment before it gets to the dial?

Hello everyone.
On may change any component or renovate to accelerate the Sovereign GT and get a little more POWERFUL.
If possible with some details please
Thank you

I feel the GT is very powerful the way it come without changing anything, but you have to spend time to know it well and know what it is telling you. With the sensitivity set at auto is good to get to know the Sovereign and once you know it then turning to manual and running it in the 11-12 o'clock position and if the threshold is stable while holding the coil still you will do OK, but may have to swing the coil a bit slower then auto, but will see more of the deeper iffy signals if you know your Sovereign well. The adjustments in the detector are the threshold tone volume which some will change to their hearing, but this does not improve the performance of the detector. Also if you do change anything in the box be sure to mark where the factory set it so it can be set back before you sell the detector or if you see the way it come is the best settings so it can be set back where it belongs.
Of the Sovereign I have seen and tried with any mods done to them inside the control box does not work as good as the way it comes from Minelab once you get to know your Sovereigns.
