Sovereign SX obsolete response from Minelab

Dan MI

New member
I sent an email to Minelab customer service to get an official determination on whether or not the Sovereign SX is considered obsolete as far as replacement processors go.
Although this isn't a definitive answer (waiting on Ireland response) it does bring two points up. First Minelab customer service absolutely super. Second, anyone with an older Sov take notice that the unit will be obsolete soon if it isn't already. If you have an older Sov take good care of it.

Alright you got that cleared up, Another bit of confusion as far as the forum goes and people saying different things could be attributed to the fact that say I sent in a sov Xs, they repaired it . It may not have been a bad micro processor but some other thing and they fixed it, if that was the case I would say well they fixed my Xs no problem , while someone else sends in thiers and it has a bad processor and they are told it cant be repaired ..so two guys send in an Xs one gets his back all fixed the other guy gets his back and is told they dont have the parts to fix that unit anymore ......thus one happy guy with raves about Minelab , and one grumpy guy with Rants about Minelab .............problem solved ...........Great Work Dan thanks for getting it cleared up and bringing it here .......
