Sovereign sniffed this out today...

I took the Sovereign to an old house site I've been searching around and wanted to try the small coil
to see how it performs.
Finds were slim,but I did find this Indian head cent.. not bad for the first time out with the small coil.
This was found in a grove of trees about 200 yards from the house site.
It was in pretty rough shape when I first found it and didn't have any idea it would clean up this good.
I few peroxide baths did the trick for me.

That is one good looking Indian. So far I have only found two and neither one of them looked that good.

nice one felix.... what size coil you using... 5 inch ? brand ? just curious...... i have a 5 inch detech which is ok....gives a little better seperation but i would imagine the sunray 5 inch is probably better.... nice find either way....

Nice IH i found three this year but not as good looking as that . I just got a sunray 51/2 in coil. Hope that will work in my sights. GL HH GS .

I was using the small 8" minelab coil on this hunt.
When I bought the Sovereign new, it came with the 10" coil and I have had great luck with it even in trashy sites.
I plan on taking this small coil back to another park I pounded a couple years ago and see if I can find anything else I may have missed due to masking with the larger coil.
I pulled wheat penny after wheat penny out of holes with nails with the large coil and I was impressed to be able to do this.
This Sovereign really made a believer out of me at this site with the finds I made in this "hunted out" park!LOL
