SOVEREIGN METERS..............................

.................................evidently there are 2 types of meters! One is more or less the standard-typical ID scale. The other one converts the signal into a number, most of these are calibrated to 180 for the .25! Now which one is preferred and why? Thanks Joe

The first meter Minelab had was a bar meter which to me wasn't very good, so Sun Ray mad a meter which were the 180 numbers and seem to be very good. In the late 90s Minelab made a digital meter that used the 550 numbers so a quarter would be calibrated to 550. Later on someone come up with a way to modify these 550 number so they would read 180 on a quarter. Now when the new GT come out Minelab made a 180 meter which can be bought.
Some like the 550 numbers, but to me they were not as stable when they made the first one, but when the Elite came out it seem these meters were more stable and seem to lock on better. For me I want the 180 meter over a 550 meter as I can tell my coins from trash much better and the numbers don't overlap one another.
