Sov's have great discrimination while PI's have NONE.

can't tell you that.

Doubt the Infinium has the discrimination at depth that a Sov has. A Sov is good down to the last inch or two , you can use a meter for ID, and the audio ID is something you have to experience to appreciate.

In a lot of hot rocks or black sand the Infinium may be better for depth. Just about any PI is going to beat out a VLF in really extreme mineral, but you are going to dig a lot of trash with them.

Perhaps you should also post your question on the PI forum. Should be someone who can tell you what to expect out of the Infinium.
