:clapping:i'm so glad i found this forum which made me decide what type of a detector i need it.
I went out with the gt on my second day today the first day was kind of confusing thaks to RICK i follewed his set up procideres on the first day here at coney island i maneged to pull a lots of pennies dimes some quarters and about dozen bottle caps. Today was my second day i stayed out about two hours and the tide was low as soon as i hit the beach my wonderful sovereign went crazzzzy there were hits all over left right front back loose change was coming up like a jacpot machine i even pulled up a 1912 dime at 13 inches this machine is crazy one question to you guys.
If i play with the settings will it go deeper thak you all.
WHO SAYS SOVEREIGN GT DOESNT GO DEEEEEEEEP.....

the sensitivity being turned up can get you more depth in some cases, but too high and you lose depth .........an old dime at 13 sounds like your set up just right ........good to hear your happy ......A

Sounds like you are doing well with the GT and starting to understand it. I was hoping some of the info I been posting will help some get used to the Sovereigns.
Now for depth the sensitivity can be run a bit hotter, but it may false a bit too and too much will actually see too much and mask some good finds. In most cases 11-12 o'clock position is plenty good, but it wont be as stable and you may have to listen more to those little weak signals. I still say start in auto sensitivity to get used to the tones, then switch to manual after you know the tones better. Some have no problem learning it and run manual right away, but there is some that have a tough time and this is where auto may be better. I also find by going real slow is where I get my best depth as i will hear the tone change to a good tone very quick and then it is gone, if swinging the coil too fast you will not hear these so you will miss them. Once I hear the tone I want going slow I can swing it a little faster over just that small area of the target and get the tone to start increasing letting me know it is a good target.Speed I feel it the killer for depth of the deep targets.
It does sound like you are learning the GT real good and hope to see you posting some real great finds.

Rick
