I haven't seen many finds posted on this forum for some time and
I haven't gotten out with the Sovereign much myself in a while, but I
decided to search a small park that yielded some great finds for me once I got a hang of the Sovereign.
This detector really impressed me with all the finds I made in such a trash filled area.
I was going back this morning for a short hunt to hopefully find an old coin or two, but unfortunately
there was some kind of event going on so I decided to try another small park just up the street that I tried a few times finding some wheat pennies,
but pretty much kept going back to the other park.
I only searched for a couple of hours, but from the results I got this morning, I'm heading back soon.
I ended up with a 1934 mercury dime, three wheat pennies dated 1955, 1946, 1946, and an Indian Head cent dated 1899.The IH cent was pretty deep and gave a nice tone and ID
reading when swinging over it trying to pinpoint it so as not to disturb much ground.
There is a lot of history to this park and I'm sure there are some more coins in there to be found.. just need to get over them!!
I sure would like to see some other Sovereign finds posted here.. starting to think folks have moved on to the Etrac.
Thanks for looking,
Felix
