Sovereign GT question ??

Bob (OHIO)

New member
I just got my new GT and got it all together---except for one part.It looks like darth vaders space ship.Actually,I think its a rest for under the control box,BUT,and this is the question, how is it mounted to the box???This part isn't even listed or pictured in the manual. The only way to discribe it would be to say it looks like a lazy X. Bob

Where is goes is where you mounted the plastic bracket for the control box under the arm cuff. If you don't put the bracket there this stand will slide in where the plastic bracket for the control box would go. if you mount the control box under the arm cuff this stand is of no use and just keep it with the box the detector come in.

I guess I can stop scratching my head and wondering where I messed-up.On a second note,I see its the same stand for the SE.Must be some way to mount this thing to keep the controls out of the mud. Thanks again, Bob

but on the gt the controll box is set up there , it is the same one they send with an elite with the S rod set up... I have one too but as I went to the straight rod I found it to be ineffictive , ....it will fit under the arm cuff if the box is hip mounted and keep the unit from falling over,

You can get a stand that will clamp on the shaft if you want from Dixie Detectors. I have used these on a couple of detector and they work good. The stand you have will not work if you mount the control box under the arm cuff, but these that David at Dixie has will work good. Just click on the link and scroll down a bit and you will see them.
