The Minelabs 180 meter has been discontinue, The only way to get one is on the used market. A minelab 180 meter went for over $300 on Ebay last month.

The other choice is the Sun Ray 180 meters which are also very rare to find used. Or you can do the patrick modification which installs the meter in your GT's speaker

Good luck

Go ahead and call around and look for mom & pop metal detecting stores. The metal detecting community is build around these type stores.I bought a brand new 180 meter last month right off the shelf 160 bucks! He had more at the time! I have pointed others his way so the last one is probably gone by now. But there are more out there just take the time and look for one. steve

If you don't have to have an original, there is a fellow in the UK, custom building a clone meter, which looks very professional, he offers it on Ebay every few weeks. I have no idea of its quality but it goes for around 50 to 60 Quid

Thank you everyone, been looking they are like rocking horse xxxxx has any one tried one of these clones of ebay, might b my only option thanks

For the toggle switch boots Google Philmore Part No: 30-1000 $1.75 ea. I bought mine at $2.16 tax incl. locally

Using a meter is subjective. I say learn the tone responses this machine makes on certain metals. I have used both the 550 and 180 modded meter.
I have personally stop using a meter. The target number system seems to broad to remember and is jumpy at times. I tend to dig at targets based on tone , before I even looked at meter.

I say buy a smaller s-5 sun ray coil instead , it is a much better investment than a meter .
You will not be disappointed.

If you you find a meter , be aware " most" will be used or " old new stock" pieces.
And yes they are becoming scarce.
Even more rare is the " patriot" meter made for the sovereign.
