Sovereign gt/Elite lower shaft

The lower rod on the Excalibur is the same as the GT, you just have to drill a new hole in the rod to match the GT's hole position.
Just ordered one from Kellyco for $19.97 plus $9.95 shipping, if you can't find a used one.

Wonder if anybody has made a carbon lower shaft for the Sovereign to drop some weight? That fiberglass one is heavy. I would guess if you found the right tube size you could destroy the old shaft to get the lower plastic coil mount out of it and glue that into the carbon tube. Rest of the conversion would be easy.

and have a hole right through the bottom of them that allows them to drain easily if you wade. easy enough to adapt to the minelab, used those for a long time.
reposition the upper pin to match your GT/Excal rod and you have to use thicker washers on the bottom as thats a little thinner than the minelabs lower rod. the newer tesoro rods have the 1/4" hole so you dont have to redrill those.
plus the tesoro lower rods are inexpensive:detecting:

Anderson Shafts makes a carbon lower shaft for the Excalibur that can be modified for the Sovereign but they are expensive.
