Sovereign GT arrives

Murphdasurf

New member
My ebay Sovereign has arrived and seems to be in good working order.

First off just as I had hoped for there are dicernable tones. Some are subtle but definitely there. Even different style/ non ferrous content pull tabs seem to have slightly different tones. Foil and small gold seam to be real close but a difference is there. I suspect this could be made even better with a quality pair of head phones which I don't have.

I had gone over a patch of ground with my ace 250 and cleared it of metal to make up a test garden, or so I thought. Problem is the ace did not clear the ground and the sovereign is picking up things the ace missed and I had not planted making my test garden a bit confusing. Its a good kind of confusing however. I know for sure now the sovereign will find targets the ace could not.

I kept hearing "learn your machine" and now feel that there actually is something to "learn". Lets face it, the ace had three tones and a probable target ID not exactly the height of sophistication. Did not have much time but hunted a small area I had gone over with the ace previously. Found two quarters and a penny the ace had missed and of course, a pull tab a some can slaw.

Cant wait to hit the beach and now have a better understanding of every ones advice not to bother with any discrimination. Pretty confident its just a matter of getting my ears trained.

you got it!!!!!!!! get some good phones like you said and the tones will be even more dicernable between different items......I think you are way on top if you can tell the difference between items, (check out the sound of a nickle its a sweet sound and once you hear it you will definately know the difference between junk tabs and nickles) I love hittin trashy parks, the first place I head is near the picnic tables, people stay away because there are sooo many tabs, I sit there and cherry pick nickels out of tabs and rarley confuse a tab for a nickel.......I love the sovereign, its deep , its fun , in my opinion is a very capable machine for my hunting needs......glad to hear your happy and I hope we see some gold and silver being posted by you shortly ..........A
